Booze bribe case heads to court in Valmiera, Latvia

The bribe was given in order to secure a decision favourable to the company regarding the letting of premises.

The Prosecutor’s Office stated that a company owned by the accused was renting premises from Valmiera municipal council, but had to vacate them by the end of 2025 due to planned renovation work on the building. To enable the company to continue operating elsewhere, its manager approached the local authority with a request to let alternative premises.
