Progressives' party member expelled over nature of relations with minor

The newspaper Diena reported on October 1 that Eņģelis may have had an intimate relationship with a minor orphan, who has lodged a complaint with the Rīga Orphan’s Court. The complaint has been forwarded to the State Police and the Minister for Justice. Armands Ruks, Chief of the State Police, emphasised in an interview on the Latvian Television programme “Morning Panorama” that the police prioritise such serious crimes and that the investigation is ongoing.
