Drunk-driving Uzulnieks could face up to a year in prison

The maximum penalty is up to one year in prison.

As reported extensively, the former Minister for Welfare was caught at the wheel with a blood alcohol level of more than 3 per mille. Criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident, and charges were brought against Uzulnieks on 24 September. He is charged with driving a vehicle whilst the blood alcohol concentration, as determined by a breath or blood test, exceeds 1.5 per mille.
