Such wet weather has never before been experienced, according to those at the cranberry farm "Purva červenīte". Usually, the harvest begins in mid-September, but this autumn it will not be possible to work with berry-picking equipment in the bog for some time.
The wet weather conditions also contribute to the multiplication of pests, which will reduce the harvest volumes this year, though the berries will still be destined for both the Polish market and self-pickers.
