The data, from 2023, show that in Lithuania there were 18.8 deaths by intentional self-harm per 100,000 of population. In second place is Slovenia with a figure of 16.4 and Hungary with 16.0.
Next are the remaining two Baltic states, Estonia (14.2) and Latvia (14.0).
The lowest suicide rates were recorded in Cyprus (3.5), Greece (4.3) and Malta (5.5).
