Hot-air balloons have been spotted over Ilūkste, as well as in Pelēči Parish, Preiļi municipality. There is no cause for concern. The balloons are participants in the prestigious Gordon Bennett Hot-Air Balloon Race, which started in Germany. A Latvian crew is also taking part in the race.
The movement of the hot-air balloons can also be tracked on the “Flightradar24” app.
