Law enforcement officials report that at around 7 p.m., the State Police received a report that an electric train had struck a man on Zolitūdes Street in Riga, who died at the scene from his injuries.
Law enforcement has launched a criminal investigation into the incident and is currently determining the circumstances and causes of the accident.
This is the same location where two underage girls lost their lives last summer in a train collision.
