Following an order to leave, 135 460 third-country nationals were returned to a third country (non-EU country), a 20.9% increase compared with 112 040 in 2024.
Latvia returned around 2 280 people from third countries in 2025 (the figures are rounded), an increase of 10% on the 2024 figure of 2 055. Back in 2020, the figure was as low as 910 people returned.
