Currently, there are 13 licensed online pharmacies in Latvia, but only over-the-counter medications may be purchased online, noted Rihards Burmistris, head of the Pharmacy Department at the Health Inspectorate.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, some pharmacy chains have continued the practice of offering the option to order prescription medications online by attaching a doctor’s prescription, though both the prescription and a valid ID must be presented again at the time of delivery.
